Trip to The Infinite Mix
On the 28th September we went to The Infinite Mix where we went to 10 different rooms.
Every room was dark and had a different purpose, for example one of the rooms had two similar videos going on at once, another one was in 3D, another one we all had to wear headphones.
The following images are of some stairs that we had to go down to go from one room to another;

Too Good - Drake Ft. Rihanna lyrics
DRAKE
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, look
I don't know how to talk to you
I don't know how to ask you if
you're okay
My friends always feel the need
to tell me things
Seems like they're just happier
than us these days
Yeah, these days I don't know how
to talk to you
I don't know how to be there when
you need me
It feels like the only time you
see me
Is when you turn your head to the
side and look at me differently
Yeah, and last night I think I
lost my patience
Last night I got high as the
expectations
Last night, I came to a
realization
And I hope you can take it
I hope you can take it
I'm too good to you
I'm way too good to you
You take my love for granted
I just don't understand it
No, I'm too good to you
I'm way too good to you
You take my love for granted
I just don't understand it
RIHANNA
I don't know how to talk to you
I just know I found myself
getting lost with you
Lately you just make me work too
hard for you
Got me on flights overseas, and I
still can't get across to you
And last night I think I lost my
patience
Last night I got high as the
expectations
Last night, I came to a
realization
And I hope you can take it
I hope you can take it
BOTH
I'm too good to you
I'm way too good to you
You take my love for granted
I just don't understand it
No, I'm too good to you
I'm way too good to you
You take my love for granted
I just don't understand it
DRAKE
Years go by too fast
I can't keep track
How long did we last?
I feel bad for asking
It can't end like this
We gotta take time with this
Cock up yuh bumper, sit down pon
ita
Let me see if this is something I
can fix
You got somebody other than me
Don't play the victim when you're
with me
Free time is costing me more than
it seems
Sacrificing things
And I wanna tell you my intentions
I wanna do the things that I
mention
I wanna benefit from the
friendship
I wanna get the late night
message from you, from you
I put my hands around you
Gotta get a handle on you
Gotta get a handle on the fact
that
BOTH
BOTH
I'm too good to you
I'm way too good to you
You take my love for granted
I just don't understand it
No, I'm too good to you
I'm way too good to you
You take my love for granted
I just don't understand it

Prepearing our pitch
During these recent lessons, we have been planning our pitch together and thinking of creative ways to present it. We have come up with the song that we will be using for the official thing. We have several locations in mind such as London Eye, London bridge and calming areas. We have also decided that it is going to be recorded mostly at night.

Case study 4
This music video is very popular in Colombia. The camera and editing techniques are very different and unique. for example, this split screen where on one side has a sepia effect and the other one is normal. The line that split these two scenes isn't a straight line, its diagonal. The second screen shot of a split screen uses a mirroring technique where we can see the same thing but the opposite angle as if there was a mirror in between. It is also at a closer shot. The third image has a technique where it shows the same thing as the bigger image but varies times, smaller and in a diamond shape.
Another reason why I would like to use this videos ideas is because it uses colours such as green, black, yellow, this attracts more audience as its something different like for example:
This music video also uses a 3D technique and it also uses a reverse at the same time, this is at the minute 1:41, when this happens the artists say 'al reves' which mines upside down and also means inside out.

Case Study NO.3
- This is another music video that fits in the the genre conventions of Hip-Hop.
- The video includes a lot of different shot and angle types. Long shots are used to show how the models look and the different type of props they have on time, such as their costume and make-up. Another shot which is very common in Hip-Hop music videos is a birds eye view as the artist would be looking down and therefore have more power as it is above the audience and the audience would be looking up to them.
- This video is also mostly in slow motion as it wants the viewers to take time and see every detail of the scenes that are made like this, this is used a lot when showing the models used in the video as it helps attract a male audience.
- Kent is surrounded by a lot of females which indicates that he has power and money. However, he is also surrounded by males which could be his friends and therefore suggest that they are part of his group and are included in everything he does.
- The light used in this video is natural light as some of the video is set outside.
- This video has a popular theme as there are a lot of Hip-Hop songs that have their music videos in a hotel room, at a pool party, at night clubs, or just out in the city.
Case Study NO.2
- The genre of this music video is once again Hip-Hop.
- It includes a variety of different shot sizes and shot angles, such as; close ups, mid-shots, long shots, and many more. Each shot has a different meaning, for example, an establishing shot it used to show the area where the video is set, which is used right at the beginning of the video where we can see many buildings and the sea. A close up is used to show the something in detail and to make the viewers focus on just that one thing. Long shots are used to show the audience what the artist is wearing and all the props.
- The video is done in slow motion, this makes it look calming and a relaxing song as the colours seen in the video are mostly light colours such as white and cream. However the scenes where we can see men with masks, weapons and on motorbikes have bright colours, such as; red, orange, green and many others, this creates meaning as it shows that its a lively atmosphere with energy.
- There are a lot of props such as; weapons vehicles, masks, jewelry, etc.
- The video was recorded with a lot of natural light, and in the dark scenes the only lights seen and used are the motorbike's lights.
- Rihanna is the only female in the video, this makes her seen as someone powerful because she is surrounded by a lot of males with weapons and sophisticated motorbikes. The meal look aggressive as they have tattoo's, masks and some have a built body.
Case Study NO.1
- The genre of this music video is Hip-Hop.
- The video clip includes a variety of shot sizes and shot angles, such as; establishing shots, close ups, long shots,... These different shot types each have a different meaning, for example an establishing shot is used to show the area the video is set in. Another example, a close up is used to show the person's expressions or the features of what has been closed up to.
- The video starts of with Kylie Jenner, and is shown as someone important in the video as she is at the start and end of the music video. it starts off with her in her nightwear and a body gown making herself tea and the it goes to the next scene which is her holding her dog walking towards the window in one of the rooms of where she is. By starting off the video with her and ending it with her signifies she is the protagonist of the video as it is a conceptual music video because its showing and telling the audience what and who the lyrics of the song is about.
- By also giving Kylie Jenner the important role in the video it makes the audience of Hip-Hop genre want to watch the music video and share it as she is part of a well known celebrity family. The audience that this is attracted to will buy the record as it links with the genre conventions and the video may relate to the audience's' feelings because PartyNextDoor is talking about a situation that is seen in peoples relationships.
- The reason why I have chosen for this music video to be one of my case studies is because it has features that I would like to use. One of the techniques it includes which I find interesting and entertaining is the first shot which is a establishing shot, this is because its a shot where you can see the location where the video is taken place. In this video it is a big house, like a mansion, which therefore indicates wealth, power, status, etc. which links to the genre conventions as many Hip-Hop artist enjoying showing wealth venues.
- Another feature that has inspired me using this video, is the slow motion used at the end. This feature is used a lot in Hip-Hop music videos as it gives it a more interesting look to the video and it links with the audio because its a slow calming song which has a video that uses slow motion several times. I wouldn't really use the slow motion technique varies of times of my music video as its not that slow, I would only be using it at the being of the music video as its the intro and this may help it attract more audience.
